University of Scranton students secure grant for UNC childcare center

lowes grantA group of students from the University of Scranton’s Students in Free Enterprise helped secure a $2,000 grant from Lowe’s for United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania. This is the second year in a row that the students worked with UNC’s Bellevue Childcare Center to continue to build an outside play and learn space. This year’s grant was used to purchase planters and materials that will help the youth grow a garden. University of Scranton student Caroline Blith (back) assisted Bellevue students (front, from l-r) Christian Sandman, Kavion McLain, Kyara Henriquez, Luis Perez and Josiah DeLos Santos plant the seeds to their new garden.
