Older adults celebrated at “Seniors Got Talent”

DSC_4614UNC hosted its 2nd Annual Lackawanna County’s “Seniors Got Talent” on May 22 in honor of May as Older Adults month. Amateur older adult acts- ranging from musicians, singers, dancers, comedians and more- competed against each other for a first, second and third place prize. The event was presented by Humana. Lackawanna County Recorder of Deeds Evie Rafalko McNulty emceed the event. Four guest judges included the The Poets’ Pat Loungo, Reverend Bill Carter, Dave Kahurchik, and Judge Terrence Nealon. The winners were: third place, Gus Reed & Chuck Weber as a vaudeville act; second place- Joan Glowinski, comedic singing; and first place– Gene Simonetti, singer. The event was a huge success with over 300 people in attendance and it helped to raise funds for our senior centers.
