DSC_5332United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania (UNC) recently celebrated the 15th year of its annual Mardi Gras fundraiser. However, 2015, brought many new changes to the event, including a name change to “Party Gras”. Over 200 guests and staff celebrated the spirit of New Orleans on February 6 at the Radisson Lackawanna Station. The event raised over $21,000 for Angel’s Attic, the largest total raised in the history of the event. Angel’s Attic provides more than 20,000 individuals each year with clothing, food, and household items free of cost. New music from the Indigo Moon Brass Band brought the jazz funk to the evening and a performance from mentalist John Graham wowed the audience. Also, everyone enjoyed the photo booth, fortune tellers, gaming tables hosted by WNEP’s Sharla McBride, and southern-style cuisine including jambalaya. The event was presented by PNC Bank, Grimm Construction, and Bank of America.
