Older Adult Programs

  • Lackawanna County residents, sixty years of age or older, and their spouses (any age), are eligible to participate in center programming. Participants must register, and the information is kept strictly confidential.
  • UNC's Older Adult Programs provide numerous opportunities for members of our community at 4 Senior Community Centers. Ranging from Quilting and PEPPI Exercise, Discussion Groups, Bus Trips, Cooking and Computer Classes, to our Senior Softball Team, UNC Aging Program has something to interest everyone.
  • Our Centers are as varied as the neighborhoods in which they are situated, and as welcoming as the wonderful members and volunteers found there. Each center provides a nutritious lunch daily, as well as its own calendar of activities, with many special events throughout the year.
  • Transportation is available through Lackawanna County Coordinated Transportation and can be arranged by the Center Manager. UNC's Older Adult Programs are funded in part through the Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging and the Lackawanna County Commissioners Office.
