Emergency Services

Not all emergencies are found in the back of an ambulance or the aftermath of a tornado. An emergency is a state of need for help or relief created by some unexpected event. As much as we’d like to ignore or deny it, life is full of these moments. And more than we’d like to admit, these events are sometimes out of our control. We at UNC are here to help individuals and families find a little footing in the shakiest of times.

Following a general assessment, our Intake workers allocate appropriate services such as advocacy, referral, and financial assistance, to help fulfill clients’ immediate needs. Our work also serves a secondary function – to help families achieve self-sufficiency in the long run.
