Fair Housing Education and Outreach
Fair Housing means you freely choose a place to live.
This program seeks to achieve a broad-based, grassroots community education and outreach initiative related to housing rights. By educating the general public, protected classes of community residents and gatekeepers in the housing industry, the rights of those seeking housing are better protected.
Fair Housing Opens Doors
Groups Protected Under the Fair Housing Act
People of Race or Color, people of all Religions, Familial Status, National Origin, Sex and those with Disabilities are protected under the Fair Housing Act.
The Fair Housing Act PROHIBITS discrimination based on disabilities. UNC is here to help with any discrimination against this population.

Fair Housing protects people. You experience to report unfair treatment you experience when purchasing a house or renting an apartment, you need to report it. UNC will help you file a report to the proper authorities. Through the development of a formal complaints process there is greater access to housing for all people.
Please contact UNC's Fair Housing Program Coordinator, Jeanne Brolan at (570) 343-8835 Ext. 106.
