Bellevue and Progressive Centers'
Evening Teen and LIT Programs
The goal of the UNC's Evening Teen Program is to provide our teens with programming that enhances social and emotional skills in a safe and structured environment. It is a drop-in program where
teens are offered various positive alternatives to socializing in the streets. The program includes: youth
leadership, basketball and soccer, arts and crafts, Hip Hop and Salsa dancing
workshops, cooking, recreation, academic assistance, computer training, as well as active involvement with local law enforcement and other self-help agencies.

This program continually solicits the help of community members in the way of the old adage that states: "It takes a village to raise a child." Thus, UNC serves as a link between youth, peers, parents and any significant others in a young person's life.
UNC's Teen and LIT Programs provide a safe and structured environment which is conducive to fostering academic support and experiential learning. Youth attending this program receive homework assistance and structured activities, aimed at improving socialization skills. The program operates during the
evening hours of 6 p.m. to p.m., Monday through Friday, with special
Saturday programs for neighborhood teens.
