UNC Receives $5,000 EITC Donation from NBT Bank to Support Project Hope Summer Camp

United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania (UNC) is pleased to announce the receipt of a $5,000 donation from NBT Bank in support of its Project Hope Summer Camp program. The contribution was made possible through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC), which encourages businesses to invest in educational opportunities by providing tax credits for donations to eligible organizations.

Project Hope at Camp UNC is held each summer in the countryside of Tunkhannock and serves more than 150 children throughout the month of July. The program provides children ages 5 to 14 from income-eligible families living in Scranton with a traditional summer day camp experience in a safe and supportive environment.

Campers receive free transportation, along with breakfast, lunch, and a nutritious daily snack. Programming includes a wide range of educational and recreational activities such as STEM learning, arts and crafts, sports, and team-building exercises, each designed to promote physical health, mental well-being, and positive social development.

Project Hope Summer Camp offers children the opportunity to learn new skills, build friendships, and create lasting summer memories while providing families with peace of mind that their children are engaged in a high-quality, enriching program.
