Peoples Security Bank Invests in Community Growth

United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania (UNC) is grateful to Peoples Security Bank for its continued investment in strengthening communities through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP), Neighborhood Partnership Program (NPP), and Special Program Priorities (SPP).

Through a multi-year $100,000 investment, Peoples support UNC’s Pine Brook Revitalization Project, focused on affordable housing, façade improvements, small business growth, and neighborhood enhancements. Recent milestones include the opening of the Matzo Development and the launch of the first Pine Brook Block Party.

Peoples also invested $40,000 in UNC’s Workforce Development Program at the CEDAR Center, helping individuals build pathways to employment through job training, credentials, and employer connections.

An additional $10,000 investment supports UNC’s South Side Farmers Market, a year-round market in South Scranton that increases access to fresh food while supporting local vendors. The market accepts SNAP/EBT and offers Food Bucks to help stretch food dollars. UNC thanks Peoples Security Bank and the entire team, for their continued partnership and commitment to building stronger communities.
