Young Artists Shine at UNC’s Annual Illumination Youth Arts Exhibition

On June 4, 2026, more than 25 young artists showcased their creativity and talent at UNC’s Annual Illumination Youth Arts Exhibition.

The event welcomed family, friends, community supporters, and art buyers to view artwork created by youth throughout the year. Artists had the opportunity to discuss their work directly with visitors, sharing the inspiration behind their pieces and the creative process that brought them to life.

In preparation for the exhibition, participants selected titles and prices for their artwork, wrote artist statements, and helped prepare their pieces for display. Through the experience, they developed presentation skills, learned the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, and gained confidence in expressing their creative voices.

For graduating seniors pursuing arts education, the year also included building digital portfolios and preparing for the next stage of their artistic journeys.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported these talented young artists. We are especially grateful to the funders and community partners who make Illumination Youth Arts possible, including United Way of Lackawanna, Wayne & Pike, the City of Scranton, the Robert Y. Moffatt Family Charitable Trust, the Lackawanna County Arts & Culture Department, the Overlook Estate Foundation, and our generous donors and community partners.
