Go the Extra Mile with UNC!

April 22, 2020

For the past two years, UNC has participated in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community at PNC Field. However, because of COVID-19, this year’s event has been changed to an online virtual walk. We are inviting you to walk your way in your space and show your support for UNC!

When: Anytime, now through June 1!

Where: Anywhere you can safely social distance – a hiking path in the woods, around the neighborhood, on your treadmill at home, etc.

Who: You! Solo or with whomever you’re social distancing with at home.

How Long: You choose how long you walk!

Why: It’s important to stay active while we’re staying home so we’re inviting you to take a walk while showing your support for UNC regardless of your ability to make a donation. Entry is free! Donations are appreciated, and all donation dollars go directly to support UNC’s programs, including emergency relief during COVID-19. Just a $15 donation gets you a t-shirt which will be distributed this summer!

It’s easy to participate!

  • Sign up to walk by clicking here. There is no entry fee. If you’d like to donate to UNC or someone would like to support your walk with a donation to UNC, donations can be made on the registration page.
  • Take a fun picture of your walk! Get creative by making a sign, dressing the family in a theme, wearing your favorite hat on the treadmill, or including your furry friends!
  • Email your photo to sstopper@uncnepa.org and tell us in a sentence or two in your email why you are walking for UNC. We’ll be sharing your pictures and the reasons why you support UNC through social media and our website.
