UNC to Use State Tax Credit to Boost Small Businesses

UNC will use a $160,000 state tax credit received through the Neighborhood Assistance Program of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to create a small business incubator in South Scranton. The incubator will focus on the immigrant community and offer entrepreneurship and leadership training as well as other assistance to people interested in starting and growing small businesses. The funds will also be used to expand the South Side Farmers Market. The market has been a welcome addition to the area. South Scranton is considered a food desert, and the farmers market has expanded residents’ access to healthful foods
