UNC Receives Grant from Moses Taylor Foundation for Interpreter Services

Thanks to a $20,000 grant from the Moses Taylor Foundation, UNC has started working with LanguageLine Solutions, an interpretation service that enables staff to connect to an interpreter by phone or video at any time of day and receive translation services for 240 languages.

Approximately 14% of clients who come to UNC for services speak limited English or speak a primary language other than English. Bi-lingual staff are often able to help Spanish-speaking clients, but last year alone, UNC worked with individuals speaking 18 different languages. Now UNC has this new tool to communicate with individuals and families more effectively.
