UNC Raises $13,945 During NEPA Gives to Support Summer and Year-Round Services

United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania (UNC) is proud to announce that $13,945 was raised during NEPA Gives to support our mission to work together with neighbors to provide services and create opportunities that empower individuals and build strong, interdependent communities.

All donations received will support our summer needs and sustain our vital year-round services. As food insecurity rises when school is out, Angel’s Attic Pantry continues to serve over 600 households each month. In July, 200 Scranton children will attend Project Hope Day Camp, where they’ll enjoy a safe, enriching summer experience. At the same time, working families can continue relying on UNC’s top-rated, affordable Child Care Centers.

The support generated through NEPA Gives also strengthens our year-round wraparound services, including eviction prevention, ESL classes, senior center activities, and after-school arts programs — helping neighbors build more stable, self-sufficient lives.

UNC was also awarded bonus prizes through NEPA Gives by the Moses Taylor Foundation, William G. McGowan Charitable Fund, the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, and the Cumulus Media Award. In addition, Houghton Chemical Corporation provided matching donations, increasing the impact of funds raised.

This strong showing of community support ensures UNC is better equipped to meet the rising needs of our neighbors — this summer and beyond.
