The COVID-19 pandemic has put the health and well-being of every person at risk, but it is worst for those whose well-being was already on a shaky foundation. UNC addresses the critical needs of this vulnerable population on a regular basis, and now more than ever, must be ready and equipped to help them. Emergency services such as food distributions, utility assistance, and housing support are especially vital to these families during this time. Your gift today will ensure that UNC continues to provide critical services during this unprecedented time. Thank you for your support!
In 2019, a total of 9,500 individuals were impacted by UNC programming, out of which 6,300 received some form of emergency assistance. The agency’s Community Health and Aging programs served 1,253 clients, and our Community Education department provided more than 6,000 hours of English as a Second Language and related instruction for recent immigrants. Nearly 400 youth participated in UNC’s after-school programs, with the majority of those students progressing to the next grade level or graduating successfully. These numbers are just a snapshot of the extensive services that UNC provides on an ongoing basis, services that would not be possible without your assistance.
