UNC services include child care centers with transportation, pre-school programs, youth programs, older adult programs, community health education, free screenings, community services, community education (free adult literacy, English as a Second Language, and citizenship classes), community revitalization, and community development (affordable housing).

Our UNC Locations: Scranton, Tunkhannock, Jessup, Carbondale, West Pittston. This position is located in Scranton, PA.

Hours: Full and Part-time opportunities available (10, 20, or 30 hours per week available). This position has a split shift with typical hours of 6:30am to 8:30am and 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Position availability for either shifts or both.

Position Summary:

We are searching for Child Care Staff in our Child Care facilities. The Child Care Staff will work with our Group Supervisors to coordinate the educational, social, emotional, and physical development of the children in the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise small groups of children during activities.
  • Assist in food preparation and serving, as directed by Group Supervisor; assist in monthly food inventory.
  • Assist co-workers in all aspects of Child Care operation.
  • Assist co-workers in ensuring the Center’s compliance with regulations concerning operations in the Child Care Center.
  • Participate in weekly Center staff meetings.
  • Assume responsibility for opening and closing the Center.
  • Plan and implement daily program activities under the guidance of the Center Director.
  • Perform tasks, administrative and otherwise, to insure smooth operation of child care center.
  • Experience in Child Care and/or a degree in child services preferred.

Education/Experience/Licensure:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. (not required).
  • Experience working with children is preferred.
