Company Intro: United Neighborhood Centers of NEPA (UNC) is one of the largest, and longest operating, nonprofit organizations in the region. The agency’s purpose is to meet the needs of local low-income families, seniors, youth, and new immigrants, while also empowering them to attain self-sufficiency. UNC services include child care centers with transportation, pre-school programs, youth programs, older adult programs, community health education, free screenings, community services, community education (free adult literacy, English as a Second Language, and citizenship classes), community revitalization, and community development (affordable housing).

Our UNC Locations: Scranton, Tunkhannock, Jessup, Carbondale, West Pittston. This position supports all UNC locations.

Hours: Full-time hours Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm with availability to participate in weekly team On-Call rotation.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Facilities, this position performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures for all UNC facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting and repair experience:
  • Basic electrical fixtures and circuits including low voltage electronic, 120/240V
  • Windows/doors
  • Lock and entryway experience.
  • Flooring/carpet basic installation
  • Household plumbing systems and fixtures
  • HVAC systems-heat pumps, air handlers, gas burners, boilers and associated equipment
  • Experience in painting, prep, best practices and techniques
• Available to participate in On-Call rotation
• Ability to participate in snow removal-use of blowers/plows/shovels/salt carts
• Experience in grounds keeping-use of trimmers/mowers
• Ability to lift 50lbs

Education/Experience/Licensure

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
