Program Coordinator – English as a Second Language
United Neighborhood Centers of NEPA (UNC) is one of the largest, and longest operating, nonprofit organizations in the region. The agency’s purpose is to meet the needs of local low-income families, seniors, youth, and new immigrants, while also empowering them to attain self-sufficiency. UNC’s wide array of programs are continuously adjusted to fill the gaps that exist in local services.
The ideal candidate is someone who is a team player, flexible, and detail-oriented with demonstrated experience balancing competing priorities and assisting those with housing needs such as evictions, homelessness and budgeting skills.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination and support of all ESL curriculum, instruction, and assessment. This includes onboarding and overseeing all volunteer teachers, tutors and their instruction, and enrolling incoming students. The Program Coordinator works 40 hours per week; two 12:00-8:00pm days and three 9:00-5:00pm days and reports to the Director of Community Education.
