UNC accomplishes its mission through six programmatic departments that provide a comprehensive array of services to help neighbors in need. These departments include:
Our child care centers provide before and after school care (with transportation), as well as pre-school services, to children of working families.
Our youth programs provide opportunities for at-risk youngsters and teens to learn and grow in a safe, supportive environment.
Our Active Older Adult Community Centers provide educational, nutritional, and social opportunities to local seniors age 55 and older.
Our Community Health Department provides care coordination services, facilitates free screenings, offers health education programs, and helps break down the social and environmental challenges to a healthy life.
Through our Community Services Department, UNC meets the basic needs of individuals facing crisis situations, as well as provides support for long-term stability.
We work with residents and other partners to revitalize neighborhoods. We also provide free adult literacy, English as a Second Language, and citizenship classes to serve both native and foreign born residents.
We create affordable housing options through our subsidiary, United Neighborhood Community Development Corporation.
